Public Private Partnership in Long-Term Care has proven to be a model for the effective delivery of vital social services in Ontario. For the residents, operators and government agencies the inventory of new long-term care facilities as a result of these programs is demonstrably better architecture. The structure of the participant’s relationship is also a better architecture to be applied by government as a model for the cost effective procurement of other institutional programs. Our exposure to the 1998 Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care program standards and now for the 2009 Renewal Strategy for older homes has led us to a deep understanding of the accommodation needs of our aging and infirm population. It has also led us to an appreciation for the intricacy and collaborative nature of Institutional project delivery.
